Overview
OAuth Apps allow you to securely connect external applications with your Affnook account using OAuth authentication. They provide controlled access to Affnook resources without requiring you to share your account credentials with external applications.
You can create and manage OAuth Apps from the Affnook panel and define the specific resources and operations each application is permitted to access.
Accessing OAuth Apps
To access OAuth Apps:
Dashboard → Automation → OAuth Apps
The OAuth Apps section allows you to view existing OAuth applications, create new applications, and search for specific applications.
Searching for an OAuth App
The OAuth Apps section provides a Name filter to help you quickly find a specific application.
Filter | Description |
Name | Enter the name of an OAuth App to search for a specific application. |
Enter the application name in the Search field to view the matching OAuth App.
Creating an OAuth App
To create a new OAuth App:
Navigate to Automation → OAuth Apps.
Click Create OAuth App.
Enter the required OAuth App details.
Configure the required scopes and permissions.
Set an expiry date and time.
Click Submit.
OAuth App Configuration
Field | Description |
Name | Enter a name for the OAuth App to help identify it. |
Scopes | Define the permissions that the OAuth App will have. |
Resource | Select the Affnook resource that the application should be able to access. |
Operation | Select the operation that the application is permitted to perform on the selected resource. |
Expiry Date | Select the date and time when the OAuth authorization will expire. |
Adding Scopes
Under Scopes, select the required Resource and Operation.
After selecting them, click Add to add the permission to the OAuth App. You can add the required scopes based on the level of access needed by the external application.
Once all required scopes have been added, select the appropriate Expiry Date and click Submit to create the OAuth App.
Security Best Practices
Only provide the permissions required for the application's intended functionality. Set an appropriate expiry date and regularly review your OAuth Apps to ensure that unnecessary or outdated integrations are removed.
