Written by Apurva Tiwari

A Smart Link contains multiple offers, and with just one unique link, you can automatically direct traffic to the most relevant offer. This ensures that every click is monetized and none are wasted due to incorrect geo, device type, or other targeting mismatches.

For example, if some clicks come from countries outside your target geo, they will be redirected to another campaign that accepts traffic from those locations. This makes your traffic utilization far more efficient and helps you maximize overall performance.

How to create categories:

You can create categories by navigating to the Campaigns section and then opening the Categories tab.

  1. Click on the Add Category button.

  2. Enter the name for the new category.

  3. Click on Submit.

Your new category will now be created successfully.

To assign campaigns to a category, you can either:

  • Select the desired category while creating a new campaign, or

  • Edit an existing campaign and choose the category there.

How to Create a Smart Link in Affnook

Step 1

Log in to your Affnook dashboard, navigate to the Automation section, and select the Smart Link option.

Step 2

Click on “Add New Smart Link” .

Step 3

In the setup screen, fill out the essential fields:

  • Name: Enter a clear, descriptive name for your Smart Link — this helps you track/manage links easily.

  • Description (optional but recommended): Provide details about which campaigns/offers are included, any special rules, or notes for publishers.

  • Smart Link Type: Choose how the Smart Link should behave:

    • Category — include all campaigns in a specific category.

    • Manual — manually select individual campaigns and control traffic split (e.g. percentages) if needed.

You can also use the Autofill option to automatically distribute the remaining traffic percentage across the selected campaigns.

NOTE : By default, SmartLink Event is set to Click.

Step 4

Now you can configure any filters or limits.

For Category:

  • Allowed / Blocked Publishers: Use this if you want to permit or restrict specific publishers.

  • Offer Criteria Filters: Apply conditions such as Min/Max Payout or Allow Brand / Exclude Campaigns to control which campaigns are included.

For Manual

  1. Allowed / Blocked Publishers (if you wish to restrict certain publishers).

Step 5

Setup Targeting Rules — this determines how traffic will be matched to the appropriate offer:

  • You can set the status of the smart link to Active, Pending and Disabled.

  • City, Region.

  • Optionally, you can configure a fallback URL or fallback campaign. (in case the selected offer is paused or unavailable).

Once all settings are configured, save the Smart Link.

Generating Smart link

How to Generate and Use the Smart Link

  • After creation, go to the Smart Link and click on Generate smartlink.

  • In the Smart Link list, select the link name and choose the Affiliate for whom you want to generate the link. This will generate a unique URL that you (or your publisher) can use.

You can also customize the link by adding tracking parameters (such as custom parameters p1–p10, source or sub-publisher identifiers) or by selecting a specific tracking domain configured in Affnook.

  • The Smart Link engine will automatically route each click to the most appropriate offer — based on your targeting configuration and real-time traffic attributes — maximizing the chance of conversion.
