Introduction

The iGaming world comes with its own set of unique terms that can sometimes be confusing for new users or even experienced players. This article aims to clarify some of the most common terminologies you’ll encounter while navigating an iGaming platform. Understanding these terms will help you manage and optimize your experience with various platforms, products, and campaigns in the gaming industry.

List of Keywords

Leads

A lead refers to a new player who signs up or registers for a particular game or product.

First-Time Deposit (FTD)

The first occasion when a player deposits money into a game. This is a significant milestone for operators and affiliates, often marking the point of conversion from a lead to an active customer.

Recurring Deposit

Any deposit made by a player after the first-time deposit. From the second deposit onward, all further deposits are classified as recurring.

Net Gaming Revenue (NGR)

This is the operator's financial outcome once all costs have been deducted from the Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR). Essentially, it’s the net profit remaining after bonuses, chargebacks, fees, and other adjustments are subtracted.

Formula: NGR = GGR - Bonuses - Adjustments - Chargebacks - Fees.
You can customize this formula based on your platform's financial structure.

Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR)

GGR refers to the total revenue generated before any deductions such as bonuses or adjustments. This is the raw profit an operator makes.

You can customize or create a formula to calculate GGR based on your platform's needs.

Adjustments

Any amount the operator 'adjusts' from the customer's account. This might include bonus corrections, errors, or any financial modifications.

Chargeback

A chargeback occurs when a customer disputes a past transaction, usually claiming it was invalid or fraudulent. The operator must return the amount to the customer, often through a refund or deduction.

Withdrawals

This refers to the payouts made by the operator when a customer wins and decides to cash out their earnings.

Payout

The amount paid to an affiliate once certain conditions are met during an ad campaign. Payout rates can vary and can be set up on the platform under the "Manage Payout" section.

New Depositing Customers (NDC)

These are players who have registered and deposited money simultaneously. It’s important to note that if a player registers but does not deposit, they will not be counted as a new depositing customer.

CPL/CPA (Cost Per Lead/Cost Per Acquisition)

These are performance-based pricing models. In CPL, affiliates are paid for each lead they generate. In CPA, affiliates are compensated for each acquisition (e.g., when a lead makes a first-time deposit).

Revenue Share (Rev Share)

A commission structure where affiliates are paid a percentage of the Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) generated by the players they bring in.

Wagering Customers

These are players who actively participate in betting or gambling on the platform. Wagering customers are often key targets in revenue-sharing models, as their activity directly impacts the operator’s income.
